05 — Questions

What is the fee charged on?

Net booking revenue: what guests pay for their stays, less platform and card fees and refunds. It leaves out the cleaning fee, HST, levies, deposits and damage payments.

Who pays HST?

Guests pay HST on the stay. Casa's own charges carry HST too, and you can claim it back if you're registered. Who collects and remits HST on a stay depends on the booking channel and on whether you're registered. Casa's position is that it acts as your agent for HST. Guest HST on bookings made directly on our site: to confirm.

Is this a guarantee?

No. It's the published rates and your town's rules run on the numbers you gave. Bookings are a range, not a promise.

What about the levy and registration?

They're yours as the owner: the town's marketing levy where there is one, and the province's yearly registration. The rules card above shows both for your town, with their sources.

Why does it show only running it yourself?

Casa's own prices are shown on a personal proposal for now. Tick "Prepare my personal proposal" below and a person at Casa will send yours.
