Kentville's proximity to 14 Wing Greenwood — Canada's largest air force base — is a significant and often overlooked STR demand driver. Military postings, training courses, and family visits associated with the base generate consistent bookings throughout the year. These guests typically need accommodations for one to four weeks and prefer the home-like experience of an STR over the limited options at on-base accommodations or the motels along Highway 1.

The Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada research centre in Kentville is another steady demand source. Visiting researchers, conference attendees, and collaborators need accommodation in town for days to weeks at a time. Combined with the Valley's growing agri-tourism sector — farm tours, u-pick operations, cider houses — Kentville offers a more diversified demand profile than its small-town appearance might suggest.
